  • Skippered ca. 3,000 nM in the Adriatic Sea from Venice (Italy) to Levkas (Greece), all in the wake of Odysseus and Herodotus ( 2 x 3 months)
  • Crossed the Atlantic twice, as crew and as co-skipper
  • Explored the Windward and Leeward Islands in the Caribbean from Surinam to St. Maarten
  • Participated as crew in multiple onshore sailing races across Europe

  • First place IJspegeltrophy, a very cold wintercompetition at the North Sea, S/Y AddiXion (ORC3)
  • Delivery of X-372 to Kiel from Lelystad, the Netherlands (ca. 275 nM)
  • Short-handed crossing of the Gulf of Biscay from Brest to A Coruña with S/Y Isola (ca. 350 nM)
  • Sailing S/Y Isola across the Atlantic  from the Cape Verdean Islands to Martinique (co-skipper, ca. 2,000nM)


  • First place IJspegeltrophyS/Y AddiXion (ORC3)
  • Exploring Scotland, S/Y WestWind, from Inverness to Belfast in Ireland via the Orkneys and the Hebrides with the Zeezeilers van Marken
  • Crossed the Atlantic the Pure way from Mallorca to St. Lucia via Gran Canaria (ca. 4,000 nM)
  • The Odyssean Trail, S/Y Helena, Skipper

Circumsailed the Adriatic Sea from Murter, Croatia via Montenegro to Ithaka, Greece, home of Odysseus, and back via Puglia in the south-east coast of Italy. In total ca. 2,000 miles with 3 crossings. Rented the ship and chartered it among ca. 25 friends on a cost-only basis. See also the post about the first half of the trip.

Circumsailed in the Adriatic from Croatia to Venice and back via Dubrovnik, ca. 1,500 miles in total, covering much of the route Jason and Medusa followed after they fled Kolchy.
